Category: Holy Week Maundy Thursday In-Person Worship Coordinator: Elaine StormMaundy Thursday is remembered the Thursday before Easter Sunday. Jesus celebrated His last Passover meal during His ministry on earth.
Maundy comes from the Latin word, "command." During this last meal Jesus gave His disciples a new commandment, "... you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." (John 13:34, ESV). Jesus demonstrated this new commandment as He knelt and washed the disciples' feet.
During the Passover meal, Jesus took the cup of wine which symbolized God's wrath. Knowing He was to take upon Himself the wrath of God, the punishment we deserve, Jesus pointed to Himself and instituted communion.
You are invited to Maundy Thursday worship service. This service will only be offered in-person.
